PM Modi's visit to Russia next week would be his first bilateral foreign trip since commencing his third term in power last month.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay an official visit to Russia on 8-9 July, the Kremlin and India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Thursday.
The MEA said that Modi and President Vladimir Putin will co-chair the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit in Moscow.
The two leaders would review the "entire range of multifaceted relations between the two countries and exchange views on contemporary regional and global issues of mutual interest", accordint to the office.

"Prospects for the further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Indian relations, as well as current issues on the international and regional agenda will be discussed," the Kremlin said in its announcement.

Modi would also address the Indian diaspora in Moscow during the visit, the first by the Indian leader to the Russian capital city since 2015.
Meanwhile, Kremlin spotlights Modi’s Moscow visit as of utmost importance.

"An official visit by the Indian Prime Minister is planned. We will give it the highest priority, and this will in fact be one of the first, if not Modi's first, post-election visit. On July 8–9, negotiations will be held in Moscow," Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov told journalists.

The last bilateral summit between Putin and Modi was held in New Delhi in December 2021, when Russian President undertook a day-long trip to India.
