On Saturday, Donald Trump became the first US Presidential candidate or President to become the subject of an alleged assassination attempt since Ronald Reagan in 1981.
Wild theories about an alleged plot to eliminate Donald Trump emerged online after the former White House occupant survived an attack by a shooter during a campaign rally in the US state of Pennsylvania during the weekend.
According to the Secret Service, a young man carried out the daring act from a rooftop near the venue of Trump's rally, firing multiple shots at the real estate magnate-turned-politician.
One of the bullets injured Trump's right ear. However, the 78-year-old Republican leader survived as law enforcement agencies shot down the attacker.
Soon after the attack, world leaders, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, condemned the attack on Trump.
On the other hand, netizens also shared their opinion on this act.
Among the people voicing their thoughts on the attack, a section pointed out The Simpsons' connection to the assassination attempt on Trump.
Some X users even claimed that the American sitcom had rightly predicted the attack on the former US President but the Secret Service failed to prevent it.
It is worth noting that Trump is the frontrunner to dislodge the Democratic Party's Joe Biden as America's next President.
Following the attack, Trump's chances of winning November's presidential polls jumped to 70 percent, per the political prediction tracker Polymarket.
It is an increase of 8 percent, an all-time high since he joined the fray to take on Biden in the 2024 elections.
