India on Monday hit back at Pakistan Army chief, General Asim Munir, after the Islamic Republic's de facto military ruler openly advocated "nuclear war" with India if his country faced an existential threat.India's remarks came after Munir reportedly made incendiary comments during his latest visit to the US, underlining that the Pakistan military will destroy any structure that India constructs on the Indus River and its tributaries after New Delhi put the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) in abeyance following the Pahalgam terrorist attack in April this year.Notably, it is not the first time Munir has issued such threats to India.Following the Pahalgam massacre, where Pakistan-backed terrorists gunned down 26 tourists, Munir and the nation's top leadership ratcheted up the nuclear bogey, claiming that Islamabad would nuke India if New Delhi launched a military campaign against their country in response to the brutal killings. However, all those threats proved hollow as India conducted precision strikes, targeting terror infrastructure deep inside Pakistan, and when the latter retaliated, the Indian Air Force (IAF) used the BrahMos missiles to pound Pakistani military infrastructure, causing heavy damage to their runways, aircraft hangars, and radar sites, amongst others.

'Will Not Give in to Nuclear Blackmail': India Hits Out at Pak Army Chief
Pakistan Army chief General Asim Munir has repeatedly issued threats to India, often warning its larger neighbour of a nuclear war.
India on Monday hit back at Pakistan Army chief, General Asim Munir, after the Islamic Republic's de facto military ruler openly advocated "nuclear war" with India if his country faced an existential threat.
"Our attention has been drawn to remarks reportedly made by the Pakistani Chief of Army Staff while on a visit to the United States. Nuclear sabre-rattling is Pakistan's stock-in-trade. The international community can draw its own conclusions on the irresponsibility inherent in such remarks, which also reinforce the well-held doubts about the integrity of nuclear command and control in a state where the military is hand-in-glove with terrorist groups," the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement.
"It is also regrettable that these remarks should have been made from the soil of a friendly third country. India has already made it clear that it will not give in to nuclear blackmail. We will continue to take all steps necessary to safeguard our national security," it added.
India's remarks came after Munir reportedly made incendiary comments during his latest visit to the US, underlining that the Pakistan military
will destroy any structure that India constructs on the Indus River and its tributaries after New Delhi put the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) in abeyance following the Pahalgam terrorist attack in April this year.
"We will wait for India to build a dam, and when it does so, phir das missile sey faarigh kar dengey [we will destroy it with 10 missiles]...The Indus River is not the Indians' family property. Humein missilon ki kami nahin hai, al-hamdulillah [we have no shortage of missiles, Praise be to God]," Munir said, according to reports.
"We are a nuclear nation. If we think we are going down, we'll take half the world down with us," he stated.
Notably, it is not the first time Munir has issued such threats to India.
Following the Pahalgam massacre, where Pakistan-backed terrorists gunned down 26 tourists, Munir and the nation's top leadership ratcheted up the nuclear bogey, claiming that Islamabad would nuke India if New Delhi launched a
military campaign against their country in response to the brutal killings.
