Indian billionaire conglomerate Adani Enterprises and UAE-headquartered IHC on Thursday signed an MoU to set up an aluminium project and supporting infrastructure in the eastern state of Odisha. The project would bring together the full aluminium value chain in one integrated ecosystem, Adani said. The proposed project would be supported by a captive power capacity of 4,000 megawatts and a green energy component of about 400 MW, he added. It would generate nearly 35,000 construction jobs during the construction phase and support around 18,500 jobs during the operational phase. The strong relationship between India and the UAE has been further strengthened by the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), IHC's Chief Strategy and Growth Officer Peter Abraam told the gathering at the event.

BRICS Boost: Adani & IHC Unveil India’s Largest FDI Mining Project
Abu Dhabi-headquartered International Holding Company (IHC) wwill provide majority investment in the proposed aluminium project, which ranks among the largest global investments in the sector, Sputnik India has learned.
Indian billionaire conglomerate Adani Enterprises and UAE-headquartered IHC on Thursday signed an MoU to set up an aluminium project and supporting infrastructure in the eastern state of Odisha.
The proposed $11.5 billion investment to establish an aluminium ecosystem in Odisha represents "one of the most significant aluminium ecosystem investments anywhere in the world", Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) Managing Director Karan Adani said at the MoU signing ceremony in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
The project would bring together the full aluminium value chain in one integrated ecosystem, Adani said.
"It envisages an alumina refinery of nearly 4 million tonnes per annum, an aluminium smelter of nearly 2 million tonnes per annum, and a downstream aluminium park of nearly 1 million tonnes per annum," the Adani executive highlighted.
The proposed project would be supported by a captive power capacity of 4,000 megawatts and a green energy component of about 400 MW, he added.
It would generate nearly 35,000 construction jobs during the construction phase and support around 18,500 jobs during the operational phase.
The
strong relationship between India and the UAE has been further strengthened by the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), IHC's Chief Strategy and Growth Officer Peter Abraam told the gathering at the event.
"And that continues to unlock more opportunities for trust, investment, trade and investment, and this investment that you can see here today," Abraam stressed.
