Pakistan has witnessed a noticeable surge in terror attacks in the last few months, with over 200 people killed in such attacks this year.
Six Pakistan soldiers lost their lives in an exchange of fire with terrorists in the South Waziristan region of the volatile Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province bordering Afghanistan, the media arm of the country's military said on Tuesday.
Four militants were also killed after Pakistani soldiers retaliated to the attack, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
The ISPR added that Pakistani forces had launched a
search operation in the area to ensure no more terrorists were hiding there.
"Armed forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve," the statement elaborated.
